Port aux Basques is located near the western end of Hwy-1 (Trans Canada) on the southwest coast of Newfoundland. Year-round vehicle ferry service is available between North Sydney, Nova Scotia, and Port aux Basques. Crossing time is approx. 6 hours. From the Northeast: Hwy-1 (Trans Canada) west to Grand Bay West Rd. in Port aux Basques. Turn right on Grand Bay West Rd. and proceed southwest approx. 2.75 km to intersection of Grand Bay West Rd. and Grand Bay Road. Continue straight onto Grand Bay Rd. and proceed southeast approx. 0.5 km to Legrow Street. Turn right on Legrow St. and proceed east approx. 0.6 km to intersection of Legrow St. and Hardy's Arterial. Turn right on Hardy's Arterial and proceed south approx. 1 km to arena on the left. From Nova Scotia: Take ferry from North Sydney, NS to Port aux Basques (approx. 6 hours). Follow Hwy-1 (Trans Canada) East approx. 2.5 km to High St./Grand Bay Road. Turn left and follow Grand Bay Rd. west approx. 0.5 km to Legrow Street. Turn left on Legrow St. and proceed south to intersection of Legrow St. and Hardy's Arterial. Continue straight onto Hardy's Arterial and proceed south approx. 1 km to arena on the left.
