Roanoke is located at the intersection of I-81 and I-581 in southwest Virginia, approx. 170 miles west of Richmond and approx. 240 miles southwest of Washington DC. From the North: I-81 south to I-581 South (exit 143). Proceed south on I-581 to Orange Ave. (exit 4E). The Civic Center is at the corner of Orange Ave. and Williamson Rd. From the South: US-220 north to I-581 North. Proceed north on I-581 to Orange Ave. (exit 4E or 4W). The Civic Center is at the corner of Orange Ave. and Williamson Rd. From the East: US-460 west into Roanoke. The Civic Center is at the corner of Orange Ave. and Williamson Rd. From the West: I-81 north to I-581 South (exit 143).
