Winthrop is located on the banks of the Methow River in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest region of north central Washington.
From Seattle/Tacoma: North Cascades Route from I-5 approx, 65 miles north of Seattle turn east onto Rt-20 (North Cascades Highway) at Burlington. Proceed east on Rt-20 approx. 132 miles east to Winthrop. In Winthrop, Rt-20 crosses the Methow River, runs parallel to the river for approx. 0.5 mile (Riverside St.) and then crosses the river again. A short distance (approx. 0.1 mile) after crossing back over the river, turn right on Twin Lakes Rd. and proceed to rink on the right.
Alternate Routes: Stevens Pass Route: I-5 north to Everett or Rt-522 to Monroe and take Stevens Pass, US-2, east to Wenatchee. Continue on US-2 following signs to East Wenatchee/Okanogan, crossing the Columbia River. Turn left at the junction with US-2/US-97 and continue north to Okanogan/Orondo/Brewster/Pateros (follows east side of the Columbia River and faster than US-97A. Approx. 58 miles north of Wenatchee turn left at Pateros onto Rt-153 to Rt-20 to Winthrop. Just prior to crossing the Methow River in Winthrop, turn left on Twin Lakes Rd. and proceed to rink on the right.
Snoqualmie Pass Route: I-90 east over Snoqualmie Pass to the junction with US-97 over Blewett Pass to the junction with US-2, 4 miles east of Leavenworth. Turn right onto US-2 east to Wenatchee. Continue on US-2 following signs to East Wenatchee/Okanogan, crossing the Columbia River. Turn left at the junction with US-2/US-97 and continue north to Okanogan/Orondo/Brewster/Pateros (follows east side of the Columbia River and faster than US-97A. Approx. 58 miles north of Wenatchee turn left at Pateros onto Rt-153/Rt-20 to Winthrop. Just prior to crossing the Methow River in Winthrop, turn left on Twin Lakes Rd. and proceed to rink on the right.
From the East (Spokane): US-2 west through Reardan, Davenport and Creston to the junction with Rt-174 just west of Wilbur. Turn right at this junction, and proceed northeast on Rt-174 through Grand Coulee to Leahy and Bridgeport. Continue west on Rt-173 past Chief Joseph Dam through Bridgeport, cross the Columbia River, to the junction with US-97 at Brewster. Turn left and follow US-97 down the west side of the Columbia River approx. 7 miles to Pateros. Just after crossing the bridge at Pateros, turn right onto Rt-153 to Rt-20 to Winthrop. Just prior to crossing the Methow River in Winthrop, turn left on Twin Lakes Rd. and proceed to rink on the right.
