From Highway 41 (South Entrance) - From Fresno: Take Highway 41 to Yosemite. It is 94-mile (151 km) to Yosemite Valley, and takes about three hours. From the entrance gate, the road is winding and the elevations fluctuates between 3,000 feet (912 meters) and 6,000 feet (1,824 meters). This road has many curves to the Valley floor and rises to an elevation of 6,192 ft/ 1,882 m at Crane Flat. It closes for the winter season and reopens in late May or early June, weather permitting.
